On Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. Alexander Kostuk of Pisgah Mountain Primitives in Durham, CT will be making ropes and discussing materials and the process from start to finish.  In conjuction with this open house, Dan Cruson will be conducting a walking tour of Newtown Street (now known as Main Stree).  The walking tour will begin at 1:00 p.m and will start in front of the Matthew Curtiss House.  It will be a casual walk up and down the street for about 45 minutes as Dan points out distinctive architectural features along the way.  In addition to a number of surprising historical stories, Dan has promised to include some scandal and at least one good ghost story.

Also, Lake Compounce employees will discuss theme park safety.  American Cancer Society will provide sunscreen safety beads.  New York Life will provide child I.D. cards. The Girls Scouts of Connecticut will provide information about bullying and how parents can help protect their children.
