Friends and supporters of the Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition will gather in the gardens of Woodbury’s Mill House for “The Scene on the River,”on Saturday, June 7 from 4:30 to 7:30 P.M. The Coalition, founded by concerned citizens, is celebrating 14 years of service and outreach to the people and towns of the Watershed. PRWC helps preserve and protect the Pomperaug Watershed by conducting research and collaborating with town officials and local groups to help manage this magnificent water resource. Chairman of the PRWC Board John Lacadie says, “As part of its mission, the Coalition also reaches out to residents, homeowners, local groups, and area schools to teach about proper stewardship of the river and aquifer.” Honorary Chair of the event is once again Faith Middleton, host and executive producer of the popular, long-running Faith Middleton Show on WNPR. Saturday evening along a beautiful stretch of the Nonnewaug River guests can listen to live classical guitar music and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and wines as they wander the lawns and gardens of the old Mill House, now a celebrated antiques shop and informal Woodbury landmark. They can peruse a fine array of silent auction items under the big white tent and enjoy the comic live-auction patter of the team of Paul Largay, of Largay Travel, and Dr. Peter Jacoby, Chairman of Emergency Medicine of St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. Tickets for the event are $75 and are on sale at the Coalition’s website, www.pomperaug.org. Rain date: June 8th.
