The First Annual Torrington House Tour will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2015.  Six premier historical houses will be featured on the tour.  Tickets can be purchased at the Torrington Historical Society, the NWCT Chamber of Commerce office or on line.  Check the website for further information.  Cost $30 which covers admission fee to houses, an optional shuttle bus and a booklet with a map of the tour and includes parking information for those who choose to dirve.  Preview party on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 5 to 9PM -- $75 includes ticket to the tour on Saturday.

A major fundraiser to support their sight and hearing-related efforts starts at noon at the Nonnewaug River, at Three Rivers Park at the Hollow. Buy your tickets now for the 6th Annual Woodbury Lions Club Duck Race, to be held on September 12, 2015 at Three Rivers Park in Woodbury, CT. Tickets are $5 each, $50 for a book of 10 and you don't have to be present to win. For each ticket you buy, there's a corresponding duck with your ticket number written on it. Last year, there were 2500 ducks; this year, at least twice that many. The ducks are corralled and mixed up, then, when the race starts, are all dumped into the river. On Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Cornwall Celebrates Agriculture.   The following will be judged in 2 categories:  Adults and Children (Age 12 and Under). All entries must be labeled.  When exhibiting your produce:  All items must be grown or produced in Cornwall or the local are.  All item will be judged for overall condition, shape, color, uniformity, and marketability. Bring your entries and join the fun.  Exhibits tags and plates are provided. Come and enjoy noon to 4 p.m.  Lots of activities to enjoy. Children's Activities, 2 p.m. Dan Horan from Five Acre Farm (Library) 3 p.m. CVFD Cow Chip Bingo.
