Garden Study Weekend Symposium--On Saturday September 10, 2016--Event Time 8:00 am - 3:30 pm. "A Passion for Gardens" Be inspired by a day long symposium featuring: Arne Maynard – celebrated English garden designer known for his large country gardens will take us on a tour of "The Gardens of Arne Maynard" David Culp – noted plantsman on "The Best of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" Page Dickey – beloved author, and passionate gardener on "Self-Seeding In The Garden" Quill Teal-Sullivan – preservation professional on "Courage, Vision and Manure" Andrew Brand and Chris Koppel of Broken Arrow Nursery on "East vs. West". The symposium is moderated by garden designer and preservation professional Bill Noble. Cocktails and early buying at the Sale of Rare and Unusual Plants follow at Hollister House Garden. Hollister House Garden Study Weekend, a regional horticultural highlight will be presented the the Hollister House Garden and the Garden Conservancy this year during the first weekend after Labor Day.  On September 10, 2016 the weekend begins with A Passion for Gardens, a symposium featuring a keynote address by renowned British garden designer Arne Maynard.  On September 11 a Garden Conservancy Litchfield County Open Day offers the public an opportunity to visit several outstanding private gardens in picturesque Litchfield County in a self-guided garden tour.  Registration for Saturday $180 before July 15; $195 after.  Open Day admission is $7, ages 12 and under free.
