The After School Arts Program (ASAP) is proud to announce its fourth annual Celebration of Young Photographers on Saturday, December 6 from 2:00 – 5:00pm. Visko Hatfield, ASAP board member and Chair of the Celebration of Young Writers is thrilled with how this year’s selections have interpreted the theme, Gems of My Community. The event will take place in one of Litchfield’s gems, the Litchfield Historical Society Museum. One of Litchfield’s only Beaux Arts buildings, it was built in the early 1900’s. LHS was originally the town library Three winners will receive cash prizes and spend a day with professional photographers Wendy Carlson and John Kane.  Following the exhibit, there will be a community event celebrating our selected top young photographers. Stop by to view the work, have a glass of wine, enjoy delicious cheeses from Arethusa Farm’s creamery, hors d’oeuvres.  Photographs and newly designed merchandise will be for sale, with proceeds benefiting ASAP’s arts programs for children. Guests will be able to tour a Colonial Revival exhibit as well as a Poster Art of WW1 exhibit that are currently being shown in the museum gallery spaces. Parking will be available along the surrounding streets and in St. Michael’s lot until 5pm. Event sponsored in part by U.S. Trust and Jill and Michael Lloyd.
