The Hickory Stick Bookshop Book Signing

2 Green Hill Road, Washington, CT Phone: (860) 868-0525.

Sister Jo-Ann Iannotti OP will read and sign copies of her book, Remember, Return, Rejoice at The Hickory Stick Bookshop on Sunday, February 10th at 2 p.m. About the book… With the arrival of Ash Wednesday on Feb. 13 this year, Christians will begin their routines of discipline, self-sacrifice, giving alms, and reaching out in charity to their neighbors. Although these are staples in the Christian life, they seem to receive a higher profile during the season of Lent. In her new book, Remember, Return, Rejoice Sr. Jo-Ann Iannotti points out that Lent never seems to arrive on time. When people are ready for it, it seems to come too late in the calendar year, and when it arrives early, it seems the Christmas decorations have just been put away. Remember, Return, Rejoice explains that with the arrival of Lent, it is time to make a spiritual examination of our lives. Doing this has a healthy effect on the body. It helps us to sort out what is important in our lives. It enables one to discard that which has become burdensome. One is able to clear space for a new, healthier life. In Remember, Return, Rejoice, Sr. Jo-Ann Iannotti reminds readers that Lent is the time of year to take stock of our lives so we can proceed on a more spiritual journey.
