Members of the Danbury Symphony Orchestra will perform in a recital at the Danbury Music Centre on Saturday, April 18, at 8:00pm in Kathy Olsen, flute, Jim Thoensen, oboe, Ann Howell, clarinet, Joe Howell, horn, and Kim Lemak, bassoon, will perform standard quintets by Beethoven and Mozart, as well as not so standard quintets by Joplin and Farcas. On Saturday, April 18, 2009 from 2-5PM the classic film, The Wizard of Oz will be shown staring Judy Garland and Ray Bolger at the Naugatuck Historical Society. The film is being shown in honor of Adrian Greenburg, a Naugatuck native who became one of MGM's premier fashion designers and who designed the costumes for the Wizard of Oz. Children attending the film are encouraged to dress in the costume of their favorite Wizard of Oz character. Popcorn will be served. Children: 50 cents, adults: free. You will start with a scavenger hunt along our trails looking for signs of spring...taking only photos and leaving only footprints.
