May 7, 2016--Whitehall: Historical Walk and Talk with Historian Lee Swift and Gerri Griswold. Throughout 2016, The Litchfield Historical Society will present an exhibition America's Pastimes: Sports and Recreation in Litchfield. In partnership with the Historical Society we are offering a program that takes you back to the grand days of Whitehall and Alain and May White. Learn about the state-of-the-art summer home, the grounds, and the leisurely pursuits enjoyed on the property. The program begins in the Ceder Room with a montage of historical photographs. A visit to the Museum will reveal the vestiges of the once grand Victorian building. We'll explore the Carriage House. Finally we'll stroll the property along old carriage trails, up Windmill Hill, and down the Lake Trail to the ruins of the White's noisy neighbor, the icehouse. 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M., A. B. Art in the Park at Quassy Amusement & Waterpark will be held on May 7, 23016.  This popular chalk art competition's theme this year is "Reverse Time". Open to elementary. middle and high school teams.  Reverse Time is also the name of the park's new thrill ride.  Teams may consist of up to five students who must provide their own color chalk and finish a drawing on an assigned piece of Quassy paved turf during the event.  The event starts at 11AM with awards presented in early afternoon.  Check the website to sign up your team.
