The Danbury Westerners are commemorating their 15th Anniversary as our hometown NEBCL team and the Danbury Museum and Historical Society revisits the city's rich baseball heritage by hosting a vintage base ball game. At 9 a.m. to noon. Free Westerners Kids Clinic. The clinic is open to area children ages 7 to 12. Register your child by calling 203-788-3408. At 2:30 p.m. support the Danbury Westerners as they take on The Lowell Al Americans. Team founders and Westerners alumni will be honored post-game. At 6:30 p.m. an old-time baseball game! The Newtown Sandy Hooks (the first vintage team formed in Fairfield County) versus The Bridgeport Orators. Players will follow 1886 rules and don authentic period uniforms and use replica equipment. Join the Westerners and the Danbury Museum and Historical Society for a 19th century adventure. Take in a bit of baseball from the past and present!
