43 Main St, Danbury, CT Phone: (203) 743-5200.

The East Saddam Stage Company uses Connecticut native William Gillette's actual script, originally broadcast in October of 1930 from NYC. (Gillette created the character of Sherlock Holmes for the stage in 1899.) In their production, four actors portray seven characters—including a complete sound effects table! It is a one-hour presentation consisting of a 15 minute introduction by artistic director Kandie Carle, touching on the mid-20th century radio shows in general and the discovery of the script, along with details on the production for Gillette Castle State Park. The troupe then launches into a 30-minute show where the attendees become the studio audience. Following the performance is a wrap-up Q&A.
