Oxford Animal Control Shelter will have a visit from Santa on Saturday, November 10, 2012 and the jolly old elf has agreed to have pictures taken with your pets from 10AM to 2PM,  The shelter fundraiser is $20 per sitting for the first pet and includes a 5X7 inch photo and a pet gift bag and its $5 for each additional pet.  Photo sheets of various photo sizes will be available for an additional fee.  All pets must be current on immunizations and dogs must be leashed.

On Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 5PM St. John's Church in Washington, CT has planned a Victorian Musical Afternoon.  Featuring Courtenay Hardy, flutist, accompanied by Alan Murchie at the piano.  The 5PM program in the 9 Parsonnage Lane parish hall will include Francois Borne's Fantaisie Brillante on themes from Bizet's Carmen as well as virtuoso pieces by 19th century composers such as Felix Mendelssohn and Carl Reineke.  A reception will follow the concert, for which a free-will donation of $10 per person is suggested.  Check the website for futher details.

Join us in the Garden House at the Keeler Tavern Museum, 132 Main Street, Ridgefield for songs and a brief history of Barbershop Quartets.  Members of Rare Occasion: Jim Hopper, Terry Dunkle, Robert Golenbock and Fred Baran will perform on Sunday, November 11th at 4:00 PM. Barbershop Quartets harmonize four men's voices with the lead singer providing the melody. The groups perform without accompaniment.  While Barbershop Quartets were most popular from the mid 19th century through the 1920's, they are still a joy to listen to.  Come and experience this delightful performance. Admission is $10 for members, $15 for general public, children are free.  No advance resarvations  are necessary, pay at the door.
