9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Parent and children, together, create a beautiful gingerbread house to take home. Decorate with over 85 kinds of candy, don't miss the FUN! Offered two ways. Traditional: Parents and children (ages 5 and up) team up to create their own beautiful gingerbread house from scratch to take home. Already Standing: For those with less time and younger children. Your gingerbread house is already assembled and standing. All you do is decorate! (Note: If you would like an "Already Standing" gingerbread house for any of our gingerbread classes, call the Cooking School with your request when you register so we may accommodate you.) $85 per house for each parent/child or adult team. WCSU Planetarium Show and Telescope Viewing - Danbury

WCSU will host a 4:30 p.m. planetarium show on Dec. 7, followed by telescope viewing of the sky from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Westside Observatory and Planetarium on the university's Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. On Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature a silent auction, a basket raffle and White Elephant Shoppe with an array of shopping treasurers as varied as beautiful candle sticks, a colorful ginger jar, cut glass tea mugs, a Pink Elephant party pitcher and a framed photograph of a Woodbury barn window box. Baked goods table will feature jams, jellies, and other home-made delights. As always, all shoppers are offered free cookies, coffee and cocoa and a few minutes to sit and relax.
