St. Andrew's Chrismas Fair - Marbledale

On Saturday, December 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  In the tradition of an old-fashioned church bazaar, members of St. Andrew’s will provide lots of food – Averill Farm doughnuts and coffee in the morning, and soup and sandwich for lunch. Lunch is $5 per person. All the bakers will be donating goodies for the Bake Sale, which will be in business all day long. Guests can place their bids on a selection of items and gift certificates in the Chinese Auction, and a Silent Auction will feature items like an Abbott painting and a handmade quilt. There will be a special little shop for “Children Only.” Here children will be able to select, purchase, wrap and label very affordable gifts for their whole family while their parents can browse the Big Room. In addition to all of this, there will be a special book collection – gift books, cookbooks, gardening and travel books, and Children’s Christmas books. Handcrafted items, holiday ornaments and unusual gifts  will be for sale, along with St.Andrew’s 250th History book, the commemorative 250th ornament, and packages of notecards that feature the church’s Tiffany windows. The After School Arts Program is proud to announce its fourth annual Celebration of Young Photographers on Saturday, December 6 from 2:00 – 5:00pm. A unique exhibit of images by young and talented photographers from across our region of Connecticut. A panel of renowned photographers and collectors will jury over 250 photographs submitted by children in grades 3 through 12, sixty of which will be chosen to be displayed at the event. Each image expresses a unique interpretation on this year’s theme. Three winners will receive cash prizes and one will be chosen to spend a day with a professional photographer. Following the exhibit, there will be a community event celebrating our selected top young photographers. Stop by to view the work, have a glass of wine, enjoy delicious cheeses from Arethusa Farm’s creamery and cookies from the Flour Garden. Photographs and merchandise will be for sale, with proceeds benefiting ASAP’s arts programs for children. Guests will be able to tour a Colonial Revival exhibit as well as a Poster Art of WW1 exhibit that are currently being shown in the museum gallery spaces.
