The Glass House, New Canaan, CT. $50 Visit the Glass House for an exclusive and thought-provoking collaborative experience in connection with Diao's Aldrich exhibition. Participate in a conversation between the artist and the architect/author Christian Bjone about Philip Johnson's iconic work and Diao's enduring interest in the Glass House and Modernist architecture. Diao's 2004 painting of the Glass House will be installed in the Painting Gallery for the occasion. Bjone's third book, Philip Johnson and His Mischief, Appropriation in Art and Architecture, is a critical and personal look back at years spent working with Johnson, an infamously challenging yet renowned architect. Glass House Presents is an ongoing series of public programs that sustains the site's historic role as a meeting place for artists, architects, and other creative minds. Visitors can explore the Glass House campus prior to the program and enjoy light refreshments afterwards. Reservations are limited and available only through the Glass House website.
