On Friday, March 27, 2009, the Danbury Music Centre's annual benefit fundraiser --An Evening in Vienna--will take place in the Grand Hotel Ballroom of the Danbury Sheraton Plaza and Hotel Conference Center. Guests will enjoy Viennese waltzes as performed by the Danbury Symphony Orchestra conducted by James E. Humphreville, a sumptuous table of fancy pastries, a silent auction and cash bar. Items donated to the silent auction include an airplane ride over Lake Candlewood, a three night stay in Cape Cod, baskets of rare wines and many other unusual items. $50 per person. On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday Noon to 5 p.m. a Drawing Station will be set up where visitors can experiment with a variety of materials to make small drawings from The Silo Gallery?s Exhibition, The Hunt Hill Farm property, from a still life set up, or from pure imagination - which they may take home. Free! Draw On! is a community program that began in 2006 with the help of the Ridgefield High School group, Art Lab. These students invited their schools, town libraries, local coffee shops, even an area hospital to participate in " a week of drawing in the community."
