At this special event, visitors to the Railroad Museum of New England will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with several of the museums' restored rail cars and locomotives which will be brought out and put on display for all to see. These include the recently restored Breslin Tower sleeping car, with an all original interior, and the Rutland 260, a restored 1st class wooden baggage/passenger combine dating back to 1891. Public tours will be given of these and more of the museums' historic railroad fleet at the CT Open House day. This event is FREE to all visitors and tickets are not needed. Special trains will also be running between the historic Thomaston Station and Fascia's Chocolate in Waterbury for private mini tours. This part of the event will require tickets to be purchased. Space is very limited for these tours. To guarantee a spot, it is encouraged to buy tickets in advance. Tickets are ONLY required for the train ride/chocolate tour.
