Saturday, February 15, 5PM to 8PM (snowdate 2/16. 2pm). Tickets: $20 in advance; $25 at the door. For its annual winter fund raiser, the David M. Hunt Library in Falls Village extends Valentine's Day with LOaVEs IN THE STACKS, an evening of tasty breads, games, and poetry taking place on Saturday, February 15, from 5-8pm. Wine, beer, and non-alcoholic refreshments will be served. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and can be purchased by stopping by the library, visiting www.huntlibrary.org or by calling 860-824-7424. The main feature of LOaVEs IN THE STACKS will be a 16-ft long bread board with a variety of homemade breads ranging from sweet dessert loaves to hearty savory breads baked by Falls Village residents. The breads will be complimented by a range of sides and condiments including cheeses and dipping sauces. Many of the breads will also be available for purchase. There will also be music, games, and prizes, ensuring lots of fun for all. New this year will be a photobooth for guests to strike a pose mimicking the event's poster, Carole Lombard and Clark Gable in 1932's No Man of Her Own. Noted composer and songwriter Joshua Stone will present his latest edition of the crowd favorite "Name that Tune"-game with a focus on love songs. Throughout the evening the Hunt Library-invented game, Love in the Stacks, will be played by contestants supplied with clues to locate a poem or reading hidden in the library's stacks. Once found, the reading will be presented to a designated special guest who will read the item aloud. Guest readers so far include Rita Delgado, Brook Martinez, Colter Rule, and Carol Taylor. Game contestants will receive a variety of prizes including flowers, books, and a gift certificate for The Falls Village Inn.
