A book talk and signing will be held at 6:30PM on March 27, 2013 at the Harwinton Library.  Author Jack Sheedy of Harwinton will talk about his new book "Sting of the Heat Bug.  Sheedy explores his crisis of faith when his sister dies at age 40 from complications due to diabetes.  He brings us back in time to an Irish home and family in the 1950s post-war Connecticut.  Copies of the book will be available after the talk.  Call the library for further information.

On Thursday, March 28, 2013 at noon the Old Bethlem Historical Society hosts a "History Bite" whose theme: The Allure of Stone Walls will be prsented by Bob Waldron of Waldron Masonry.  The event will be held at the Church of the Nativity's Shellman Hall.  The popular series invites participants to bring your own brown bag and enjoy complimentary dessert and coffee.  Program is free--a suggested $2 donation helps with refreshments.  Reservations are requested but not required.

Hop on over to Barnes Nature Center, March 29th, for an Easter Egg Hunt. All egg hunters should bring their favorite basket to collect eggs and earn a prize. The hunt is ongoing, so visitors can arrive anytime between the hours of 10:00 and 1:00. This is a candy free event. All are encouraged to bring a camera for photo opportunities with our live Easter animals. Baby chicks will be available to rent for the week, while supplies last. The rental cost is $10 per chick and includes a weeks' worth of feed, bedding and directions on care. Admission for this event is $5 per child and free for children under 1.
