5:30 pm - 9:00 pm. The Bristol Historical Society is offering up a St. Patrick's Day Dinner and Entertainment on March 16, 2017. The Dinner is a choice between Irish stew or the traditional corn-beef and cabbage which will be served family style and will be served starting at 5:30pm. The Entertainment at 7pm will be provided by Strange Potatoes a husband and wife team that offer a large variety of music on a variety of instruments. The cost is $10.00 per person and tickets can be purchased from the Society by calling 860-583-6309 when sending money through the mail please use our PO Box number 1393. She played on albums and videos with Joe Cocker and Bobby Womack, and backed up live performances by Dionne Warwick, Carol Lawrence, Joan Rivers and others. Louise was a soloist with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and at the Stars and Stripes Presidential Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C. in 2005. She currently plays with the brass quintet, Revolutionary Brass, and perform a wine tasting and music show for fundraisers and other private events with her husband.

12 noon to 4 pm.  Join Audubon Sharon at its annual MapleFest celebration! Come enjoy on-going, guided, 45-minute tours through the Center’s sugaring operation, including a working sugarhouse and a re-creation of Native American and early colonial sugaring methods. Watch as pure sugar maple sap is collected from the trees and turned into delicious maple syrup. Wear warm clothes and boots, as much of the tour is outdoors.  Fresh, homemade maple baked goods and coffee will also be available for purchase during the day as part of the Maple Bake Sale. Each treat will be made with the Center’s very own maple syrup!  Fresh syrup will be available for purchase, while supplies last, as well as locally made maple candy. 8 pm. Come discover and learn about Flanders' vernal pools and amphibian breeding places! Vernal pools are fishless temporary spring ponds that form in the forest essential to many amphibians and other aquatic creatures. During this program, Ph.D. biologist and DEEP Certified Master Naturalist Edward Boisits will discuss the importance of vernal pools. Then the group will head into the night to try to get a glimpse of some pools and see what their nocturnal inhabitants are up to! Wear boots and bring flashlights or head lamps!
