The Newtown Historical Society is happy to announce our popular House and Garden Tour on Saturday, June 30, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m..  We are so proud of our three lovely gardens and six incredible houses and gardens that will be on tour that day.  We guaratee you will really like what you see. Tickets cost $25.00 ahead of time and can be obtained at the C. H. Booth
library, the UPS store or Everything Newtown.  The day of the tour tickets will only be sold in front of the Matthew Curtiss house from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. The proceeds will be used to pay for the historical programs and demonstrations we present free during the year.

2012 Annual Pilobolus Ball--Washington, CT

On Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 6:30PM the annual Pilobolus Ball will take place on The Great Lawn at Quatre Vents, Washington, CT.  The Ball will benefit Pilobolus Dance Theater.  Spend a magical evening under the stars with over 400 Litchfield County luminaries.  Enjoy an open bar, gourmet dinner. a luxur silent auction and of course dancing.  Performances by the world renown dancers that the evening celeebrates.  The evening includes dinner by Kentʼs own Millstone Café and Bakery, an open bar generously provided by Pernod Ricard USA and of course, dancing. The Pilobolus Dancers will delight guests with three unique, palate-whetting performances created exclusively for the Ball. Saturday June 30, 2012 - 11am to 5pm RAIN OR SHINE Come and explore a variety of exceptional Newtown houses and gardens. Featured this year along with other properties will be the 1747 classic CT pre-revolutionary home and stunning gardens of the president of the Newtown Historical Society and his garden designer wife. A lovely historic barn on Main Street surrounded by gardens will serve as a gallery for the work of Newtown artists. The proceeds from this tour benefit the Newtown Historical Society and are used to maintain the Matthew Curtiss House Museum (circa 1750) and to support the educational programs of the society.
