Greater Waterbury Arts Show - On June 28th 2013 artists from across Connecticut will join forces with XpoArts and descend upon the city of Waterbury, CT. More specifically Bank Streets Sidewalks and wrapping around to Grand Streets sidewalks.
These artists will begin appearing at 12 noon. Each artist shall be creating their next piece right there for all the world to see. They will be interacting with pedestrians and onlookers as they paint, sculpt, or draw. These artists will be at your mercy should decide to comission a painting or a portrait to your specifications. There will be a speed painting demonstration (in the style of Denny Dent) at 5:30PM on June 28 in front of Webster Bank. In addition the the visual artists, Connecticut Dance Theatre will open their doors at The Howland-Hughes Center and celebrate their 3rd anniversary of relocating downtown. Connecticut Dance Theatre will celebrate the Howland-Hughes Days, with tours of the famous downtown department store displaying the history with the present day dance space. Musicians will be performing on Bank Street and perhaps strolling around to Grand Street. We have a special treat, there will be a 'Spoken Word' artist educating us on this style of poetry. The artists will be winding things down at around 7:00pm, if they can bring themselves to stop. At 7:30PM June 28 Shakesperience will be performing Much Adou About Nothing at Library Park. At noon on June 29th 2013 everybody will reconvene on the street to continue or to begin a new work. At 12 noon there will be a second speed painting demonstration. Library Park where Shakesperience will be getting ready to perform Much Adou About Nothing. Shakesperience's Schedule for Saturday June 29 at Library Park will be as follows.10:00AM Saturday morning June 29 Shakesperience will be performing The Sword in the Stone. 12:00PM they will perform Our City Our Neighborhoods. Shakesperience will still be presenting one final performance of Much Adou About Nothing at 7:30PM.
