An 18th century New England farmhouse is the scene at the Inn At Mount Pleasant Farm near Torrington, on 70 undisturbed acres that are all the more beautiful covered with snow. The kitchen wing of the restored farm has a warming fireplace, some of the original beams and a floor with 11-inch wide pine tongue and groove boards. The inn's Sweetheart Deal, $250, offers a stay in the Mount Pleasant room, with over 400 square feet of living space including a sitting room, sky lights, complimentary wine and flowers and a $40 gift certificate to the new Cambridge House restaurant. Other rooms are $200 per night. The grounds provide 50 acres of open meadows for cross-country skiing. www.theinnatmountpleasant.com

Five suites have tubs offering chromotherapy.
