ROMANCE IN THE AIR When it is an escape just for the two of you, there are many options. At the charming Old Riverton Inn, a classic 1796 Colonial, (800-EST-1799) where "Riverton Romantic Overnights " bring a cozy room, flowers, candy, a split of champagne to welcome you, a candlelight dinner for two and a country breakfast in the morning. Rates are from $185-$205 for one night, or $314-370 for a two-night stay. Fans of smaller inns can choose the Village Gateway B&B in Riverton (860-738-3900) where the offerings include a romantic fireside, a candlelit breakfast, chocolates, fresh flowers and rose petals on your pillow. Rates are $90.00 for a room with a sleigh bed and claw foot tub or $ 120.00 for a four- poster bed and a fireplace. When you'd rather make your own magic, you can save with a simple Bed & Breakfast deal available at the Dolce Heritage Inn in Southbury (800-932-3466), where room and breakfast are just $129.00 nightly through April 30 and the indoor pool, sauna and billiards room are complimentary to guests. Weekend packages at $219 include Friday and Saturday night accommodations and dinner for two, Saturday buffet breakfast and Sunday brunch. When an outing with the kids is in the picture, the Dolce Heritage Inn welcomes with a special family package that includes overnight accommodations, a country buffet breakfast for two adults and two children, cocktails for parents and an in-room movie complete with popcorn and soda. At the Cornwall Inn in Cornwall Bridge (860-672-6884) two people can stay any night in a room with a queen sized featherbed and down comforter, enjoy continental breakfast and vouchers for a two-for-one all day lift tickets at Mohawk Mountain Ski Area for $99. A two-night stay Sunday through Thursday is an even better deal, since it earns a third night at the inn free. Packages at Ironmaster's Inn includes two nights lodging, a generous continental breakfast each morning, and lift tickets for two for one day at your choice of Catamount or Butternut ski areas.
