The glamour and glory days of vintage sports cars will come to life August 29 to September 1 at the 26th Annual Rolex Vintage Fall Festival, Labor Day weekend of auto-mania saluting the history of sports car racing at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut's Litchfield Hills.

In one of the most colorful auto racing events in America, cars representing several decades of racing action will offer racing thrills on Friday, Saturday and Monday. While the racers take a break, the Sunday in the Park Automotive Extravaganza will feature the finest foreign and domestic classics, lined up for close-up viewing on the straightaway. The Rolex Moments in Time exhibit will feature significant cars from various periods of racing history.

This annual event is the perfect chance to discover why so many families love an outing at Lime Rock. On a fine late summer day, you can't beat the setting of this beautiful park, built in 1957 on a 325- acre site of rolling hills and lawn off Route 112 between Lakeville and Falls Village. The site forms a natural amphitheater with the surrounding green hillsides serving as grandstands. Visitors bring their own folding chairs or spread out a blanket for a picnic, enjoying a vintage view even before the cars hit the track. For those who don't bring food, everything from hot dogs to wine is available on the midway, along with souvenirs, collectors model cars and local crafts.
